The week after the Fourth of July, we went to Southern Shores with my whole family to spend the week at the beach! We had a great time - an amazing beach house one house back from the ocean with 7 bedrooms, a pool and an elevator! Eight adults and 8 kiddos. Lots of yummy food eaten, volleyball played, waves surfed (for real! and on boogie boards), games played, cigars smoked, sunscreen used and fun had!
We went July 5-12. On July 4th Hurricane Albert went through the Outer Banks and everyone there then had to evacuate. We weren't sure what to expect since we would be driving down the next morning, but traffic wasn't bad, they opened the island back up and we were good to go! We got to the island by 11am, but couldn't get into the beach house until 4pm, so we shopped in some surf shops (Wave Riding Vehicles) and ate lunch at Capt Franks with Grammy and Grandad! After driving around after lunch, we met up with Brian and Sarah and Max on the road and went to another store until it was time to check in!
We've stayed in Garden City in South Carolina and last time stayed in Corolla. This year was our first staying in Southern Shores and I really liked it! It was easy to get to and easy to get to Walmart ;) Megan shared a room with Mary Kate (and loved it)! Kylie, Jack and Cole shared a room, too!
