This Boy

This Boy, Jack, made a huge decision last night that he might not fully understand for years, but knows enough about it to have made it last night. After a night of wrestling with Daddy and his sisters, he and Megan went upstairs to get ready for bed while Daddy read to Kylie downstairs. I sat on his bed and we started reading through their devotional book. Then he wanted to know about Heaven more - physically how your body gets there, what it's like, how he can get there when he dies, what happens if he doesn't get there. He asked good questions about Jesus dying on the cross for our Sin and I got to answer his questions as best as I knew from what the Bible says. Then he said that he wanted to pray and ask Jesus into his heart to take away Sin so he could go to heaven! I had him go and get Daddy and Daddy talked some more with him, then Jack prayed!!!

It was a sweet moment, sitting with Jack and Dan on his bed, Kylie and Megan with us, hearing him pray :) Then we got to tell him that the angels in heaven are rejoicing because of him (luke 10:10)! He then said two things that I love: that he will now get to see his Grandpa (Dan's Dad) someday and that "now we just have to wait for Kylie to pray to ask Jesus in her heart so our whole family can go to heaven....then we'll be done!" :) Like that's the end of it...that just our family needs to know Jesus. It was pretty cute.

I do pray that God will use Jack's "willingness to follow" so that Jack will follow after God and draw people to Him. He's a great follower of his big sister and big boys in the neighborhood...Lord willing, Jack will not follow those who don't love God, but those who do.

Yay for Jack! We're so excited for you and we'll pray for Kylie, and Laura and Michael too, that they get to know Jesus and come to Heaven with all of us!
