Kylie's Rainbow Birthday Party

This little 7 year old had to wait a bit longer than we had originally planned for her birthday party!  We had discussed having 10 or so girls over for the party - or the option of just having 2 sisters that she really really wanted and making it a longer birthday party/playdate.  She settled on having the 2 sisters over for an almost 5 hour party - and we had to push it back because one of them got sick earlier in the week and we wanted her to get better...it ended up being so great that we just had the two sisters and the option to move it to make sure they would be there!

Kylie had a Rainbow Birthday Party - and it was fun!!!

We made 2 rainbow cakes - and they turned out AWESOME!!!  Kylie wanted chocolate icing (which we drove all over Kuwait for) so Dan iced it so nicely for her with a chocolate layer inside!  I definitely added too much food coloring - but the colors were beautiful!

We made clouds to pin...

...on the Rainbow for Pin the Cloud on the Rainbow!

We picked up her plates and napkins in the States this summer, used a shower curtain we purchased in Thailand and she set the table for lunch!

I wore 6 headbands to make a rainbow in my hair!

Dan picked up the girls - because it was on his way home from work and because their little brother was napping!  We asked them to bring their American Girl dolls with them, too!

Playing Pass the Parcel!  All the girls won a Rainbow Headband and gum!  Jack just got gum :)
Dan said, "Phew, only 4 headbands Jack!  I was worried we'd have to win one, too!"

Kylie's Birthday

Kylie had a great birthday!  She opened presents, chose french toast casserole for breakfast, watched Brave (epic fail - she hated it - and cried through a good majority of it - she didn't like the meanness of the daughter and mother - I can't blame her), chose hot dogs and macaroni and cheese for lunch and then chose to go to Happy Hour at work for dinner!  She got chicken tenders for dinner there and got to play at the playground and watch the Sword in the Stone in the playroom :)  It was a good birthday!

Presents laid out with lots of balloons in every color of the rainbow blown up by Dan

 Such fun balloons!

Singing Happy Birthday to her at breakfast!  We learned with Jack's birthday not to put the candle in warm french toast - because the candle melts!  So we put it in a marshmellow cookie :)

 Thinking of her wish!
