Hi, My Name is Beau vol. 1

 ...And I'm the Birthday Boy because today I turn 1!!!

Official Name:  Beau

Nicknames:  Beausef, Beaufort, Shrimpy, Pup Pup, Little Mountain Sheep (pronounced Mountain Ship), Pinaple (pronounced pin-app-ELLE), Pinapoose, Shrimperton, Shrimp Scampi.

Favorite Toys:  Hedgie, his green and black stuffed ball, his red, white and blue stuffed ball, Mr. Bobo, his blue bacon bones, his green bone, empty plastic bottles, balloons, balls and anything else he's really not supposed to have (the trash, hats, socks, kids toys).

Tricks he knows:  (all done if he's focused and knows what he's supposed to do) Sit, Stay, Paw (shake) and Search (for a toy we've hidden).

Friends:  Maisie, Tucker, Bosco, Rocky, Piper. And Megan, Ben and Ainsley.

Things I love to do:  Play in the Snow, wrestle with Daddy and Jack, play with balloons, follow Mommy everywhere, steal things he's not supposed to have, steal tissues out of the trash, yip when the kids are outside playing because he wants to be outside with them too!

Things I've done in the past year:  Became a member of my family, learned to jump up onto the bed, go down in the basement (he was scared of it because Dan cut his hair downstairs in the laundry room), stayed overnight at Mom Mom and Pappys with the kids, stayed overnight at Grammy and Grandad's by himself, got his first professional haircut.

Funny things about Beau:  He's afraid of trash bags and trash cans outside, he's one of the only dogs in the world that refuses to snuggle with us on the couch - he jumps right off if we bring him up, he likes to sleep on the fireplace hearth or the wood floors, he also likes to sleep in front of our french doors even though he has a doggy bed right next to him, he stretches like a cat when he wakes up, he does not like sitting on our laps in the car - he hugs his body as close as possible to us - but is okay with sitting by himself.

Dan's Birthday

Much like the theme of the rest of our birthdays in March, Dan's birthday was a crazy day!  He worked, the kids were off school for a snow day so we went to Target and each of the kiddos picked out a present for him, we drove Megan to volleyball practice, brought home Taco Bell (and postponed his real birthday dinner for another night) and hung out at home until Megan got home, then had him open his presents!

...And I'm the Birthday Boy because today I turn 39!!!

Things I really like:  'Merica, being with my family, RBC and Quest, video gaming with Uncle Matt, playing guitar.

Favorite Foods:  Papa John's Pizza, Ham, Slurpees, Velveeta Shells with strange concoctions, Iced Cookies, Peeps, Peanut Butter cookies, coffee and pop tarts.

Favorite TV Shows/Movies:  The Americans, Brooklyn Nine Nine, The Blacklist, How I Met Your Mother, Duck Dynasty.

Favorite Sayings:  'Merica, Destiny Brah, Let's take the truck, I gotta go see a man about a horse, I love my job!

Things I did while I was 38:  Grew my beard to the longest length it's been, went camping as a family, went to a cigar weekend (Smokin' in the Carolinas), went to Hatteras Lighthouse, attempted to stand on a surfboard, got a dog, went on a motorcycle ride with a buddy, started playing Destiny, went on a bear hunt, coached volleyball for Megan, attended my 20th high school reunion, stayed home in our house for the first time since we've moved back while Kristen was gone for the weekend, started co-leading the 5th grade boys small group at church, flew to California.

Why my Tweeter loves me:  Because you are an amazing man of God who loves your Lord, your family, your extended family, your friends, your neighbors and your coworkers well.  You are so much fun to be around and we all miss you when you're gone and are so excited when you are home (from work, from a trip, from anything else)!  You are so passionate about the things you love - (motorcycles, the bear hunting trip, Destiny, your job, Quest, Jesus, America, CarSaDa Farms) and I am thankful for that trait in you!  You are so much fun to be around!  You love to play with our kids outside and work with them on sports.  You still wrestle with them, although they weigh a combined total more than you :)  You snuggle us and watch shows and movies with us.  You make it a point to talk with them about God and Jesus and look at or review God's word at dinner!  You are amazing and I love you Daniel Scott!  Have a great 39th Birthday!!!

Megan's 13th Birthday

Megan's birthday was a whirlwind!  She went to her good friends birthday party the night before, so she didn't get home until after midnight (it was supposed to be a sleepover, but we had her come home early so she could get some sleep before her tournament)!  We had an early morning and were out the door to her first HOME tournament!  They played great at the tournament and we were there from 7:30am-6:30pm!  We then came home, changed and went to dinner at Anita's to celebrate her!

...And today I turn 13 and becoming an official teenager, so I'm the Birthday Girl!!!

Job:  I'm a 7th grader in Middle School.  

Favorite Things to Do:  Play volleyball, hang out with friends, go to the beach, go shopping, go to youth group, get Starbucks.

Favorite Books:  Kisses from Katie, Stung, Is it Night or is it Day, The Hiding Place, Hunger Games, Flygirl.

Favorite Foods:  Starbucks Caramel Frap, pancakes, orange marmalade, maple french toast bagels, french toast, trail mix, nature valley granola and nut bars, barbecue chicken sandwiches, Queso and chips, tacos.  

Favorite Sayings:  Pidge (her nickname for Kylie), Mamsif (her nickname for Me)

What I want to be when I grow up:  Someone who helps people but isn't a doctor.  

Things I did as a 12 year old:  Survived going to the Smithsonian Natural History Museum, Got to perform in Hairspray as a Dynamite, Got my own email address and became able to text friends, Began babysitting, Became a dog owner, Started learning German, Started taking 2 high school credit courses, Made a Club/Travel Volleyball Team, Played in my first away tournament.  

Why my Mom loves Me: Because you are you!  You are smart.  You work hard in school and do a great job at it.  You love your grandparents and cousins and living near them.  You love playing volleyball and are a great player!  I love watching you play!  You have a great sense of style and always look nice.  You have a beautiful voice and I love hearing you sing.  I love you Megan Colleen, Happy 13th Birthday!!!
