How cool is this?

Seriously, check out this site. You either type in whatever words you want or link it to your blog and it slurps text, then puts them in random order - this was from the part of my post on Dan's birthday about why I love him! It takes about 5 seconds and is so fun!

2 Timothy 3:16

So, we've wanted to work with the kids to memorize verses, but we just haven't - for one reason or another. Since Daddy headed out on a trip, we figured now would be a good time and give us something to do. We have started with 2 Timothy 3:16...except when the kids say it, they say, "For all scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16 FISH." Seriously, they say FISH at the end. Well, they did the first time, but then I explained why it was there, mostly just for decoration, but because it stands as a symbol for someone who believes in Jesus. So, now they will say the verse and finish with 2 Timothy 3:16 NO FISH. Nice.

We started it this past Wednesday night. Megan knows it by heart, Jack knows it with a couple of prompts and Kylie can say it with me...you know, except that she can't fully pronounce everything perfectly. Which makes it pretty cute. I will try and post videos of the kids doing their verse in the next couple of days.

Moto Moto

Here's a video of Megan and Jack doing a dance from Madagascar 2 - the one with Moto Moto.

Did you think I wouldn't?

Get a pedicure for my birthday, that is? Of course I did - on the day before. And took the kiddos with me. Jack brought his DS and climbed up in the hairdresser chair. Kylie brought my iPod and sat on a bench next to me. And Moo had to wait until another lady was done, before she could get her toes started.

The lady's are so nice to the kids...giggling with them and seeing what they are watching on the iPod or playing on the DS. While I was waiting for Megan to be finished, I asked the ladies if they did hair foil...like they did for Megan and Kylie at a friend's birthday party a while ago...Khun Nok asked if it was for Megan. I shook my head and pointed at me :) Khun Na tied 5 strands of pink pink foil in my hair - and I love it! It's so fun, and not easy to get a picture of...but you can see it in some of the pics from previous posts...Let's see if you can see it here in the pic below, and if not, keep looking at the recent posts of shimmery pink in my hair :)

p.s. I did Kylie's toes - and you can tell!

Catch-Up

Due to "birthday month" finally coming to an end here in our household, I feel like I need to catch everyone up on what else has been going on around here. And post some really great pictures.
Thanks for all the great birthday wishes and comments...and thank you Tweeter for posting on my birthday!!! (it was a great day!)

Wednesday we went to the playground at the kid's school - the kids are off school Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week (teacher's are at a conference/seminar). So, Dan took off Wednesday, too, and we headed up to play! Got some great shots of Dan juggling, Dan catching Kylie, Moo and Jack having fun on the slide and my favorite 4 people in the world. :)

Oh, and last night, I decided to paint this: What I had planned on being a picture with a verse on it for our living room, turned out to be perfect for our entryway! It's about 2ft x 3ft.

Running

"Hey Mom, we're running around the house to keep us healthy." - Megan
"Yeah, and when you run a lot, you can feel your heart beepin'." - Jack
(yup, he might have that "p" wrong...unless he's a machine)

Happy Birthday Kristen!

My first post and what a better occasion than for my Tweeter's Birthday! So we did some decorating for the birthday girl to make the house festive in her honor.

Notice the ribbon around the door nobs, that said, I think the blinged out laptop was her favorite of the decorations! We had a great day celebrating, the kids helped start the day out great with many happy birthdays and we had left cards out for Mommy to find at her seat at breakfast. I had left some money in her card so that her and Bugga could go on their favorite "date" and get some birthday Starbucks.

Fun bday cards Bugga on the walkway to Starbucks

We got to give Mommy some fun presents and she got to open presents we had received from the fam in the mail as well. She got a new fun phone, some great necklaces, some great craft supplies and as well as some other fun things as well.

Happy Birthday Tweeter/Mommy!!!! Hope you had a great birthday. You will need to probably do another post and fill in what I am missing.

pS by the way I have a new appreciation for all the amazing posts Kristen does on the blog!!! Thanks Tweeter, i love you!!!!!!

Favorite Food of all-time: Chicken salad sandwich w/ broccoli cheese soup and a sweet tea (ideally Macado's)! Any kind of chicken salad will do. Currently making Leftover chicken w/ italian dressing/soy sauce marinade (thanks A), more soy sauce, mayo, black pepper, onion, chopped green or red pepper, tabasco.

Favorite Things: Having Dan play with my hair on the couch. Going into Kylie's room to get her up from naps and snuggling in her bed with her arms around my neck. Giving Jack a big hug when he gets off the bus in the afternoon. Listening to all of Megan's stories about her day and the excitement in her voice.

Roomies "borrowed" this sign from Food Lion, because Dan was a Dairy Farmer at the time :)

Livin' the Dream

Dan was in the car with Kylie Friday night running errands. He had gotten her a bag of pretzels to eat and she was munching away in the car. He turned to her and said, "Bugga, are you livin' the dream?" And she replied back, "Yeah, dreamin' of pretzels."

And please, please, take note of the shoes in the picture. She bought them with her own money that Grammy and Grandad gave her. She picked them out, paid for them and had 1Baht left over. And wore them out of the store. And through the mall. And to church this morning. I, however, was under the impression they were for dress-up only. Apparently not.

Dan's Birthday

My 33 year old had a good birthday. Here's what went down. Dan went to work, I got the big kids off to school, Kylie and I baked a chocolate chip cookie cake, I decorated the house with pictures the kids and I had made the day before, I wrapped presents, we got showered, went to Starbucks for a coffee, swung by the kids' school to get them out early and all 3 of the kids and I drove down to Dan's work! He knew that Kylie and I were going to meet him for lunch and I had even talked him into coming back home with us - only he thought that we had to be home in time to get Jack off the school bus. When I would talk to him on the phone, I had Jack and Megan cover their mouths so that they wouldn't talk. They thought it was so funny. The kids and I went to the store at Dan's work to buy groceries and then headed over to his work! I had him come out to meet us and Megan and Jack hid behind the van. When Dan came over, Kylie got to shout, "Happy Birthday Daddy!" and Moo and Jack popped out to surprise him! It was so fun to pull the kids out a half-day to spend with Dan!

We got to eat lunch with him there at work, then hung out for a bit by the pond while he finished up some things! We drove home, opened presents (books, snorkel/mask, ISB shorts, fun luggage ornament to remind us that Mom Mom and Pappy will be visiting in less than a year here...), sung him Happy Birthday, ate cake, went swimming to try out the new snorkel/mask, played in the rain and got ready to head to church! Our church was putting on a dinner for the folks who teach at the school Matt and Tricia teach at...as a way to say thank you for all the work they do for/at the church.

I had volunteered us to help out (and Dan knew about it and was willing to help out). So, we brought the kids with us because we didn't want them to be apart from Dan on his birthday. Anyway, we got to help set-up, serve, generally help out and watch kids. We made the assumption that it would go from 5pm to 8pm-ish. We got home at 10pm. A good night, wouldn't trade it for the world, but just late. It was a good birthday, I think, for Dan. We got to spend a good time together and join him for lunch down at work...and get the kids out of school. Not too shabby.

Oh, and Matt and Tricia bought him a spherical rubik's cube for his brithday. He wanted to solve it before bed last night. And was aggravated that it was taking him so long. I told him not to worry...it took him 32 years and 11 months to solve the original rubik's cube :) He solved the sphere about 1 minute later. Happy 33rd Birthday Tweeter!!! I love you!!!
