Paint!

Alright, it's not done, because I don't have the pictures up on the wall, but you know what? I decided I wanted to paint the back wall in our living room (where our tv is) while Dan was gone. We headed out to Homepro the minute he left and bought the paint. A friend of mine here actually had the color on one wall in her boys room and I asked her if she still had the can! She dropped it off, we took it with us and they matched it!

I found out before Dan left that he was happy with the white walls throughout our house, that he just wanted to get pictures and things up on them...but I made up a program on microsoft paint to show him how it could look. Wanna see my test shots? Oh, and don't freak out about the color (Dan still hasn't seen it yet), but this room is like a cave during the day unless we have the lights on and I really have wanted orange in there. It's bright. It's slightly crazy. I love bright, slightly crazy rooms (not the jungle vine in our kitchen in Malone, however). And, if we decide we don't like it, we can always paint over it. I did it in one night - 2 coats and moved everything back into place in the morning, so no really big hassel.

And now for how it REALLY turned out below!!! I do like it and will probably love it more when we get the pictures up on the wall...

Gooday from Down Under!!!

I got to go out to a great local restaurant tonight for my first official dinner Down Under. When I saw this on the menu I had to get it because I was thinking where else could I order this!

The dish was the Main Platter and included the following meats: Crocodile, Kangaroo, Emu, Camel, Barramundi Fish, and a Beef steak. And they threw in taters, peas, and corn for good measure!

All the food was outstanding and I think my favorite from the dish was the Crocodile (if the plate is a clock it is at 6 o'clock). Got to also sample one of the local brews they had on tap which was fun.

One other funny/cool thing of note was when we landed and the pilot thanked us for choosing their airline and then signed off with a hearty Gooday!!!

Daddy

Dan headed out on another trip

Goodbye Daddy!!!

Our sad faces because Daddy had to leave

But we're happy because he won't be gone nearly as long as his last trip!
We love you Tweeter!!!

Saturday Morning

We had a full Saturday morning - errand running and getting things done we've needed to for a while! We started it out with me running out the door to our church - which was having a yard sale to benefit a local orphanage. I found 5 DVD's and the book "The Hiding Place" by and about Corrie ten Boom - I'm excited to read it! Then swung by Starbucks for 2 tall Caramel Frappachino's, blended coffee, whip cream for Dan and I. Headed home and had breakfast with the fam. Dan headed out to a meeting at church and the kids and I headed out to get Jack's hair cut. While there, we determined that I needed to get my nails done and Megan needed to get her hair cut. So, we ventured to another hair place to get Megan's hair done (we could have gotten it done at the same place as Jack's, but she loved it at this other place, so it wasn't a big deal). Made an appointment at Noon for me to get my nails done, got Moo's haircut, then headed to Subway for lunch. Dan met up with us there after lunch and took Jack home. The girls and I proceeded onto get our nails done. Megan didn't want hers done, but wanted tinsel in her hair, Kylie got both done and I got both done. By 1pm we had cranked out a lot of stuff and had a great time doing it! The kids were great and it was like an adventure!

Totals for the morning:
100B + 20B tip for Jack's hair = 120B or $3.52
150B + 20B tip for Moo's hair = 170B or $5.00
100B + 20B tip for my nails = 120B or $3.52
70B + 20B tip for Kylie's nails = 90B or $2.64
50B + 50B + 30B for tinsel in all 3 girls hair = 130B or $3.82
Total for the morning errands = 630B or $18.52
Yay for awesome errands done inexpensively in Thailand = priceless

EW

Our church here has a weekly women's bible study called Encouraging Women that meets every Wednesday. This past Wednesday, we finished off the semester with an event called EW's Got Talent and had ladies from the church demonstrate talents that they have, which they could also teach to other ladies. Does that make sense?

A friend, Nicole, hosted it at her house (instead of the church, where we normally meet) because she is moving in a month and the movers have already moved all her furniture/stuff out! It turned out to be a ton of fun - we had ladies demonstrate how to make silk flowers and butterflies, beautiful cards, decorate cupcakes, scrapbook and salsa dance! Now, I'm not a scrapbooker (the last page I completed was when Megan was 2 WEEKS old). I kid you not. But, I do keep up on this blog, and used Blurb to create our own Blog book (thanks for the idea Courtney - and hope yours turn out great Julie and Tricia)! We finished it the first week of March and got it while Dan was on his trip (and sent a copy to both my Mom and Dan's Mom for Mother's Day)! We love it - it's insane and so fun to have and is 200 pages long! For mid July through February. Anyway, it was fun to bring it in and share it with/show it to the ladies there...And the morning was a lot of fun. My favorite food there? A friend "threw together" chopped hard-boiled eggs, black olives, walnuts and mayo to make an egg salad spread for crackers. I think I ate half the bowl and half the crackers!

Silhouettes

They are kind of all the rage. And I suppose they have never really gone out of style. I decided to do my own - and they turned out great, except I only have 2 black frames at the moment. Have to find a 3rd before I can put them up.

Here's how I did it: I took photos of each of the kids. Right after naps. Hence Jack's hair sticking up in the back. Against a white wall. Facing both ways. Then I loaded them on the computer. I opened the pics in Word, flipped Megan's because I wanted them facing all the same way, then changed the color to black and white, then copied them and opened them again in Microsoft Paint. From there, I could easily fill in whatever I needed to and erase whatever I needed to. I think they turned out really cute - now I just need to get them up in frames!

Seriously - who does this?

Handstands on the coffee table. He's 33. There is no hope for Jack. (And I was very impressed that Dan can do it!)

Goldfish - A Poem by Megan

Beautiful goldfish
little creatures
they shoot through seaweed
scales like glittering treasure
Small little fish
made out of orange and gold cheese
Beautiful Goldfish

Packed Sunday

Sunday was a lllloooonnnnggg day out of the house for us, but was really fun. We left for church at 8:45am, then headed to a friend's house for a going away party for people in our small group from 11am-4:30pm and then headed to church for a Men's Chili Cook-off and the annual church meeting! We got home at 7:25pm! The day was great, we had a blast, it was great to hang out with friends and the kids did really well - considering that there were no naps involved. :)

The matching Tweeters (Dan copied me, just so you know - now I need to buy a camo skirt)!

The Tweedlers (as Dan likes to call them)

The Men cooking the chili! They made 2 different pots of it - one regular (really anything but) and one white. They put some chocolate in the regular chili - I liked them both and I think the guys had a great time doing it - sadly they didn't win :(

Megan doing Morgan's toenails while watching a movie.

Morgan painted Kylie's piggy toes - too cute!

The housegroup "little girls" -
Jaya, Megan, Kylie, Morgan and Aysha

The housegroup "boys" -
Jared, Aaron and Jack

Dan and Jack swimming

Dan swam with the kids - ours and Morgan. Okay, so not really swimming, mostly just got jumped on by all 4 kids and continuously begged to throw them.

He was a good sport and even had nail marks on his chest to prove it!

The Men's Chili Cook-Off! So fun and probably had 15 entries or more! We should have had a cornbread cook-off, as well - we had 10 or so different kinds!

The Judges (Joni is in the middle - one time we did an icebreaker and asked what everyone's favorite color is - Joni's reply was that she "loves all the colors". So Dan and I were joking that she would be like, "I love all the chili's.")

Jack in a cowboy hat at church - they decorated with cowboy hats, spurs and horse show ribbons...so fun!

Kylie and Rylan pulling the drink cooler around like a wagon - kept them busy and out of trouble for a good 15 minutes!

Megan and her friend Maggie! I think they kinda look alike :)

We get camera happy and keep taking pictures...
