2nd to Last Weekend

Last weekend (June 4 and 5) was a packed and eventful weekend! We got to make one last run to JJ Mall to purchase Megan and Jack their very own Thai mats and eat lunch at Jeffers one last time (they have amazing mashed potato poppers for an appetizer)!

Sunday Dan lead his last time for worship and it rocked! It was a Chris Tomlin-heavy worship time...songs that Dan and I love and ones that really fit him well to lead the church in!

Jesus Messiah - Key of B (G with Capo on 4)
Everlasting God - Key of B (G with Capo on 4)
Our God - Key of B (G with Capo on 4)
How Great is Our God - Key of B (G with Capo on 4)
It Is Well - Key of C (no capo, shocking I know)
You Are Holy - Key of E
Glorious - Key of D

Then off to Que Pasa for lunch with the Werner's :) It was packed and fun to be there!

Then that night we had a dinner at River Tree House with our Life Group! We left the kiddos at home with Kuhn Som and Bam Bam (Kuhn Som's 9 year old daughter) and had a great night full of food, good conversation and good friends. They gave us a Thai Nativity set as a going away gift and I love it! I love Nativity Sets and they are really the only thing I collect, so it was great to get one from our Life Group!

Happenings

Ethan and Jack
We framed this pic for Ethan :)

Megan and Punnava had their 3rd Grade Marketplace on May 25th! They made these paracord keychains by themselves and sold them as their "good"! They did a great job (even with a broken arm on Megan) and sold out completely!

Kylie and I got to come and "purchase" all the fun things the 3rd graders had made (using pretend money the teachers made up)! We had a great time and there were some really inventive things kids made to sell...including food and games and services (i.e. desk cleaning)!
Megan and Kylie with some of Kylie's goodies she purchased

Megan got her cast off on Friday the 27th the day before the Father/Daughter Dance :) These casts now (I sound like I'm so old) are made out of a flexible material, so they just unwrap or are cut off, instead of having to be sawed off!

Jack was at a playdate, so it was just Daddy, Kylie and Moo on the way home from the doctor's appt :) And they all fell asleep...good thing I was driving!

Megan with the line up of her casts - from right to left, littlest to biggest
Left arm (17 months), Right arm (27 months), Right arm (28 months) and Right arm (9 years 1 month)
They are all official thrown away...hopefully we won't have another one in the house

Going away party for us by Elena and Oscar - I didn't take pics of anyone else...just he boys dressed up and attacking the girls! Elena makes the BEST sausage cheese balls and mojitos (with half the alcohol for me)!

Crazy Hair Day at school
Kylie and I bought some colored hair paste for the kids - and decorated their hair! Thankfully, it came right out in the shower...and they looked awesome for the day!

We had Jaya spend the night with us unexpectedly one night, so we dug out an old outfit of Kylie's that we hadn't given away...and she let me do her hair! We took her with us up to school and had a fun morning with her!

All the pictures we gave away to friends...

And our final playdate at our house with friends - Ethan, Alli and Punnava
They came over after school and stayed for pizza dinner!

Bubble tea...well, actually Bubble Iced Chocolate...sooo yummy!
Iced Chocolate with Tapioca Pearls on the bottom...Now I'm trying to figure out ways to get to the mall to get one...

Worship Practice last Wednesday night :) I love listening to Dan lead, Ro harmonize, Chris rock out on drums to any song, Brittany play the cello beautifully and Wendy keep up with any worship song! It makes me happy and I'm going to seriously miss it!

These two cuties...Jaya and Cadie were back and forth between listening to the worship practice and back to the nursery rooms where Megan, Jack and Kylie were playing...

Megan and her teacher Ms. Chesebro at their pajama party

Jack's class (and his teacher Mrs. Hardman) at their pajama party and read-a-thon!

And the Men of our small group making chili for the church annual meeting! They didn't win this year, but they made some yummy (and spicy!) chili's!

Sawatdee Sunday

Every year, because our church here is mostly an expat church, we have "Sawatdee Sunday" the last weekend in May where we all say goodbye to those who are moving. Normally we have about 15 families who move every year - this year happens to be especially heavy and we had 29 families move from CCC. Each family is given a beautiful Thailand coffee table book and families sign inside the book for them. Because there were so many families leaving, we had 3 or 4 families at a time come up, say who they are, how long they've lived here, where they are moving to and what they will miss about Thailand. We got to be part of it this year, as we're moving...

The other great thing was that Dan got to preach on Sawatdee Sunday!!! He spoke about the 3 groups of people in the congregation - Those leaving for the familiar (going back "home" or to a place they've been before), Those leaving for the new (i.e. a new city in your home country or a new country) and Those who are staying at CCC! He had biblical advice for each group and what they need to do this next year (whether it is blessing the church they are returning to, finding a new one or jumping in to serve at CCC)...it was wonderful and he did a great job!

Father Daughter Dance

Every year the Girl Guides of Thailand hosts a Father Daughter Dance around April/May time. This year, the Girls Scouts hosted it and Dan was finally in country to be able to attend. Not only Megan but Kylie got to go with Daddy, too, because she hit the age cut-off of 5 years :) They had a wonderful time riding with Tim and Madison and Oscar and Sofie...and had a wonderful night! Apparently they danced and played tag all night...and enjoyed "not chocolate or vanilla ice cream, but mocha and coconut ice cream" which I heard about all the following day!

Beautiful Girls in B&W

And in color on my favorite bench
(and new place to take pics)

Posing with Daddy and showing off their corsages that Jack's friend Lyan's Mom made for Megan and Dan...and gave Kylie a little stem of flowers for her to have

They liked this sign and the fact that there were "No Mother's Allowed"

Love this picture of all 4 girls walking into the dance!!!

And giving a little "pose" before going in!

Doing a conga :)
