Kylie's Splash Day

Kylie had a Splash Day last week!  Thursday afternoon, they had hot dogs at school and then changed into their swimsuits and splashed in a whole bunch of pools that were set up in the Kindergarten play area!!!  It was a bit like a College Spring Break in Florida only with lots of Kindergarteners running and screaming in a wet free for all!  Kylie had a blast :)

A long shot of the whole play area - all the parents came to watch!

Kinect!!!

As a "thank  you" for watching our little friend last week, her parents gave us 2 presents to open while they were gone!  By the wrapped packages, I assumed they were a dvd kid's movie and a Jenga game.  We opened the "movie" one first and it was Just Dance 3 for the Kinect!  Well, we didn't own a Kinect, so the kids were a bit bummed, but I figured that we would figure something out.  Then we opened the "Jenga" package and it was a Kinect!  It was too, too nice of them and we appreciate it greatly!  Thankfully Dan was home the next day and able to hook it up for us - we have had a blast playing it - doing Kinect Adventures and Just Dance 3 - it's AMAZING!!!  AND the best part is that we got to have some friends over to play with us one night! :)

Megan and Kylie bustin' a move

The first song I've ever done on Just Dance - "Let's Go To the Mall" by Robyn Sparkles!!!

 The Guys bustin' out Apache!!!

 And Pump It!

And I don't remember which one this was, but it was fun to see them do it!

Our friend was at the pool the same time we were - and took pics of Dan and Kylie swimming underwater!  They turned out sooooooo good and fun!!!  We're so thankful she took them and sent them to us!!

Our little Visitor :)

We had this cutie stay with us for the last week!

Her parents went to the beach for a much needed vacation - and she got to stay with us!  We had a blast having her here and she was so cute and great!  She never fussed going to bed and only cried if she fell down and when she woke up in the morning or from naps until I went in her room to see her!  She's 22 months and a riot - super super smart and a super great talker!  We read many, many books many, many times, went shopping, to Dan's work, out to dinner at restaurants, played with babies, blocks and toys...gave baths and ate lots of noodles and pasta :)  The kids had a blast having her here and we are going to miss her when she moves!  We're glad we got to spend the week with her!

Munching on a cucumber at Marina Mall

 Shopping with the kiddos

Chillin' with Jack while the girls tried on clothes at H&M

We went swimming 2x's together - she has no fear of the water and had a great time!

She liked putting Mr. Dan's shoes on - and carrying around any purse or bag she could find!

Reading at bedtime with milk and Mr. Dan

Fancy dress up clothes?  Check.  Sunglasses?  Check.  Fancy purse?  Check!  All set and ready to go!

 Beautiful beautiful girl!

And our family with her!  She was so much fun!!!

Her sayings that cracked us up that I want to remember!  Remember she's only 22 months and articulates better than most people I know!

-Kiddos (because that's what I call them - "Now I can play with the kiddos!")
-Drink Fridge (where we keep her milk)
-That makes me nervous (what I said when she was trying to walk down the 2 little stairs in the living room with a stoller, 2 babies, a carseat and a purse in tow).  She has repeated it many, many times now :)
-Turtle Dove (from the book Somebunny Loves Me)
-Jesus Walks on Water (from the Toddler Bible stories in the car)
-Children, Obey your parents in the Lord (from God's first Alphabet - the letter P for Parents)
-I'm eating beef!  (when she shared my hamburger at smashburger)!
-Don't choke on the grapes!  (since we were eating green grapes - no worries, though, I cut them into pieces)
-I'm running away (in circles around the dining room table)!
-Missy Priss "What does Ms. Kristen call you?"
-He's Amazing!  "When the Jesus stories in the car say 'Jesus Walks on Water'"
-That's hilarious!
(Mr. Dan loves it when she says this)
-Thank you Sweetie Pie (after she helped me carry in groceries this morning)!
-Smell my toes together (after her bath, then I sniff them and blow on them to tickle her)
-"I smooched you!"  What I say when I kiss her on the cheek and then she repeats the phrase back to me :)
-"Megan's Nope-book"  for Megan's notebook
-I do it politely!  (po-wite-we) She's a riot!
-Phew Baby!  That was a big burp!  (complete with fake burping noise...sorry :)
-Let's do the Laundry (let's do the wandrie)
-Thank you very much Sweetie Pie - after she handed me each and every piece of laundry we had to fold!
-And the mouse cut it in two and ate it all up, Yum!  From The Red Ripe Strawberry
-The Aquarium (we tried to go, but there were too many kids there - it was too busy)
-Mr. Clown is so pretty!  (a Ronald McDonald we walked past on the street!)

Megan's Talent Show

This morning was Megan's Elementary School Talent Show!!!  She had to audition and sang "If I Die Young" by The Band Perry!  She did a great job and sounded wonderful!  The microphone wasn't on for the first half of the song, so we couldn't hear her, but then they fixed it and Megan sounded amazing!!!  We are so proud of her for auditioning, practicing 2x's after school and then performing for the whole Elementary school!!!  Way to go Megan!!!  We love you Moopert!!!

Our Upstairs

I realized that I have never shown proper pictures of our upstairs.  So you'll get to see it today!  I didn't take pics of the 3rd floor laundry and storage area...they are not that exciting.  But, welcome to our 2nd floor!

The Playroom!  View of the Gulf out the window, 2 couches in the back corner, left side for boys toys (i.e. legos, trains and guys, plus a coffee table for building legos and a storage area for legos we don't want to get broken), back left is Dan's musical instruments, right side is girls stuff.

Kitchenette, barbies, baby dolls and dress up :)

View back into the upstairs hallway from the window in the playroom!

 Megan's Room

Her queen bed, built in closets on the left, nightstand and mirror.

Her desk (just to keep things, we do all homework downstairs) and hutch and dresser.
Spare bedroom.  Currently used for laundry folding and ironing...can easily be made to look nice if we have guests!

Megan's bathroom in the hall.  Stand up shower, big enough to get ready and do her hair here :)

 Jack and Kylie's Room

Jack and Kylie's bathroom which is accessed from their bedroom
We don't use the shower in here - they take showers in our bathroom.

Jack's bed and stacks of books and special items next to his bed - that's his dresser and we fit a nightstand on either side of the dresser for them to have lamps and books!

Kylie's bed and nightstand and copious amounts of stuffed animals at the food of her bed.

Kylie's dresser and chair in their room - built in closets are in the back there.

In the doorway of Jack and Kylie's room facing into the hallway - Bookshelves for mostly kids books and games - door ahead is our bedroom, to the right is Megan's room, directly to the left are stairs upstairs to the laundry room and downstairs to the downstairs.

Our bed!  We had the bedskirt made in Thailand.  I purchased 2 white waffleweave shower curtains from Target and had a seamstress come out and measure the bed for a bed skirt.  I wanted it to be ruffled, but she said the fabric was too thick - she did this instead and I LOVE IT!!!

Our room!  View from the corner of the bed - Window looks out on Gulf, chairs for sitting and reading.

 My fun dresser and pictures.

Our shower - with a weird opening and no shower curtain.  We couldn't quite figure out how to get it to work, so it stays open and, for the most part, doesn't leak water.

With my back to the shower - the rest of our bathroom!

And a stained glass window in hallway!

Daddy's Home!!!

We love it when Daddy gets home after a trip!  It's the best part of him traveling!!!  This time we got to go pick him up from the airport and made signs for him!

Translation:  Welcome home Daddy.  We missed you so much.  You have been on a long trip!  From Kylie
(with 2 hearts and a balloon, FYI)

A variation on the acrostic poem...instead of each letter starting a different word, each word started a different statement:
Welcome home Daddy!
We love you!
By: Jack
OR
Welcome People
Home man, Finally home
Daddy the one and only
Hang Wive, Do the Esco (in silly talk)
Love with all your heart
You are the best
Everybody party, Everybody party!
By: Jack

Welcome Home Daddy!  We missed you!  I love you!  Love, Moopert

Waiting for him at the airport

And home at our house!!!
