 The kids have been enjoying clementines lately...when we find them, we can't keep them in the house more than a few days!

 The weather has finally cooled down here - so we've had the opportunity to play outside!  When the sun is up!  We've had fun riding bikes and playing catch!

Megan's 1st Band Concert

 

Tonight was Megan's first ever band concert!  She's following in some great family heritage of amazing instrument players...sadly not from me, although I did play the clarinet in 5th and 6th grade band.  BUT her father and I'm assuming his father, played in the band.  And maybe even his father...I'm not sure, I'd have to ask Uncle Chuck or Gram.  Anyway, she definitely gets musical talents from Dan's side of the family (both his mother's family and his father's family) although we definitely have a love of music on my side of the family as well.  

She did great!  She's been practicing the flute for the past 2 months and did a duet with her friend Evie - Au Clair de la Lune!  They did a great job and we're so proud of her!  It was fun to see all the kids there trying their best!  Flutes, Clarinets, 1 oboe, alto saxes, trumpets, trombones, 1 french horn player and a glockenspiel player who makes up the whole of the percussion section :)  But 70 kids isn't too shabby since they are all in the 5th grade!  Can't wait for the Winter concert to hear them again!

Marine Corp Ball 2012

The Marine Corp Ball was held last night here.  Dan wasn't able to make it, but thankfully my friend Sara was able to go in his place with me!  We had a great time - sat with friends, enjoyed the presentation, the yummy food and amazing creme brulee, danced a bit, chatted with friends and took pictures! Oh, and definitely people watched with all the fun uniforms, dresses and copious amounts of tattoos... :)

Jack's Birthday Part 2 - Halloween Trick or Treating

Because we live in a country that does not traditionally celebrate Halloween, Dan's work does a Halloween Trick or Treating/Trunk or Treating Party.  Since Halloween falls on a Wednesday, they opted to celebrate on the Friday before Halloween - aka Jack's Birthday!  We headed there around 4:30pm for some fun games, followed by trick or treating, trunk or treating and dinner and movie on the lawn!  We had a great time and are very thankful for all of our friends there that we got to hang out with throughout the night!  And that it was a great way to spend Jack's birthday evening!

*Earlier in the night, King Tut refused to get his picture taken.  But by the time we took our family picture, he said, "I could be in a family picture."  So Dan asked him if he wanted to be in our family picture.  He said, "Sure" and strolled in :)  He cracks us up - and we were so honored to have him be a part of our family picture!
