Finishing Up Bangkok - Hillsong United Concert

So, this spring there have been many concerts going on in Bangkok - Maroon 5, Santana, the Eagles, Lionel Richie, Slash...tons. I haven't had any desire to see any of them - until Ro mentioned that Hillsong United would be coming in June! Hillsong United is a worship band out of Australia and we love quite a bit of their worship. Ro got us tickets - through a squirrelly totally unreliable way - she was supposed to deposit money in a bank account in Thailand with the money and they would send her the tickets. Weird. We paid her, she paid the "guy" and we got tickets with friends.

It was supposed to begin at 7pm and end at 10pm. We drove Ro and Chris, Brittany and Brian and Kristin Barr :) After waiting in the Thai heat outside for approx. 45 minutes, an Australian roadie came out and announced that they had been working for 5 hours to try to get the electrical hooked up for the concert - but there were people getting electrocuted and small fires were being set....they would have to cancel the concert. Then the Thai guy got on and in Thai explained that if we just waited "45 minutes more" they might have it fixed...well, we waited 3 hours in steaming hot Thailand soaked with sweat to get in at 10pm for the concert to start. We got to listen to 6 songs and then had to leave to get back for our babysitter...totally Thai and totally a crazy night!

About an hour into waiting and sweating outside, we hear some girls start to sing worship songs karaoke-style on a huge speaker outside...not surprisingly, we knew them! It was Rylee, Darcee and Joni! :)

The boys got sucked into Brian's "Feed me Oil" game

Us exhausted and soaked in sweat waiting the last 10 minutes for the concert to start. They asked if we wanted to go stand in front of the stage...we said "Nope, we've been standing for 3 hours, thankyouverymuch!" :)

Finally (and not their fault) Hillsong United!!!
