This Spring, Jack got to be part of a 5th Grade Boy's Small Group through church. They met every Wednesday night to study how to become a man of God. Dan got to help two other guys lead the boys every Wednesday and they had a great group of maybe 11 boys! As the final culmination, all of the boys and their Dads went to a local church camp for an overnight!
Friday evening they got to play football and eat together, then the boys went to bed. The Dad's woke them up at 11pm and they got to go on a "Fire Walk" through the woods. At each lit flame, the boys were asked a question having to do with the study they worked through. As they answered it, they got to move on to the next light until they arrived at the bonfire (that Dan got to build - he loves doing that!)! The boys sat on one side of the bonfire and the Dad's on the other. One at a time, a Dad would go to his son and say that they were ready to help them live their lives for Christ and if they were ready, would they come stand by their side. It was an amazing night and a great time for the boys and their Dad's.
On Saturday morning they got up and had breakfast, then got to do a challenge course and then the big finale was a zip line!
