I am sorry to share that my Mom, Pauline DeVido, passed away this morning, peacefully, with my Dad, my brothers and our spouses and her grandchildren by her side.
Some of you know that she had bravely battled cancer over the last few years, but many of you don't, because she was so very selfless, caring and kind - never wanting to make the conversation about how she was doing or how she was feeling.
My Dad has been a superhero at her bedside all day every day taking care of her every need with humor and selfless dedication. Mark, Brian, Dan, Heather, Sarah and I have stayed by her side as much as possible loving on her and spending time with her.
She leaves behind eight loving (and loved) grandchildren who were the highlight of her life, a brother whom she adored and too many cherished friends to count. We will miss her kind, compassionate and generous spirit greatly and are so thankful for all the time we got to spend with her. We are thankful that she is pain free, smiling down at us from heaven.
We will hold a small family service next week and then a Celebration of her life in July. More details will follow.
