Avatars

So, with Dan's new xBox360, you can make profiles to play games with. Dan has his and then last week we made one for me, Megan, Jack and Kylie...just for the fun of it! You can pick hair styles, eyes, noses, mouths, eyebrows, skin color, outfits, etc! Dan wanted me to post them here on Facebook, because they are just so cute! Enjoy!

Morning in Bed

For six months or so, the kids and I have been talking about taking a day (or part of one) to spend in bed. In our room. Reading. Eating. Playing games. Etc. So, after much debate and planning on when would be a good time...we did it this past Tuesday! Dan and the kids had off for Chakri Day and we were going to have our Life Group over for dinner that night, but we spent the morning until 12noon in our room in bed!

We moved Megan's queen sized mattress into our room and placed it at the end of our bed...so all 3 kids could lay on it sideways. The kids got to play some DS, read some, snuggle some, do massages and brush out my hair....and we got to eat breakfast in our room on our floor!
We all sat on a sheet we put out and had a breakfast picnic (in the bottom right of the pic below).

It was a great time and the kids have asked if we can do it again! I loved it...not only staying in pajamas until then, but staying in bed until noon, too!

Easter

Today was a great day! We worked through our Resurrection Eggs and were super surprised at how much both Megan and Jack knew (and Kylie a bit, too)! It was great to go over it with them after Dan and I watched "The Passion" last night for the 1st time! (Dan's Mom bought it for us the day it came out on video years ago and we never watched it until last night!)

Then, after breakfast, we headed to church!!! The kids were doing a program today with 8 songs...one of which Megan got to sing a solo/small group part! They did a great job, we enjoyed watching and listening to them and they enjoyed it! After church, we had an easter egg hunt outside! Our friend, Wendy, put together 1486 eggs to hide for the kiddos...and it was soooooo cute!

Then, back home to finish making stuffing, oven baked onion potatoes and 2 pumpkin pies (yeah, yeah, I know it's not Thanksgiving...but I don't do crusts, so my options are limited on the pre-made crusts that I can make pies with). We headed over to our friends, Roger and Becky's house - to join the rest of our Life Group - including a 3 week old and a 3 day old! That's right, 3 week old Cadie was there, as well as 3 day old Levi! We had a blast from 1pm until 7pm eating lunch, dessert, hanging out, talking, the guys playing an impromptu soccer game, swimming and more talking! We love our Life Group and are so very thankful for them - we currently have 15 people in our Life Group, but with families there today, we had an additional 21 children there! A huge crowd, but lots of fun!

I think my highlight for the day was watching the guys soccer game - the "adults" played the kids - and when I say "kids" I mean the teenage boys and one 7 year old boy :) So fun to see the guys out there enjoying themselves...although a couple of blisters, swollen ankles and sore feet (playing barefoot) will make them think twice tomorrow :) I also got to have little 18 month old Jaya swim with me in the pool - she was so fun and I'm very thankful that she's friendly enough with me to have come swimming (she's a tough nut to crack)!

Our kids had a blast playing with 3 little kittens, eating yummy food, playing with friends and swimming for hours....

Happy Easter everyone!!! He is Risen, He is Risen INDEED!!!

My Birthday

I had a great birthday - and was so thankful that Dan's birthday fell on a Saturday this year (which meant we got to spend it with him) and I was glad that my birthday fell on a Wednesday, because that meant I got to spend the morning at EW (you know, if it couldn't be a weekend, then Wednesday was the next best thing)!

I was woken up that morning by Megan and Kylie singing Happy Birthday to me! ThenThat meant that I got to get Starbucks with Kylie, pray in the back room with Bugga for the ladies of EW, mingle with friends, worship, get Happy Birthday sung to me, have our "ontime raffle" winner give her prize to me because it was my birthday and head downstairs for our study! Amy, because she is my friend and our facilitator for our study, made me a cake and the study sang Happy Birthday to me, again! (it was so yummy and she sent me home with the leftover cake and another one that she had made and brought over to my house)!

After EW, Kylie and I went out to lunch with a group of ladies from EW and enjoyed a lunch paid for by a new friend :) Then after the kids got home from school, we drove down to meet Dan at Beirut for dinner! Yummy, yummy Lebanese food, beautiful flowers from Dan and presents (Twilight and New Moon movies - plus season 3 of Mad Men)!

Then home to open Dan's/the kids other presents (books New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn...plus 2 home decorating magazines)!!!

I had a great birthday - lots of fun and good time to spend it with friends and my wonderful family!
