Independence Day Part 1.

We are in the United States for exactly ONE (1) major holiday. Independence Day - the 4th of July! I figured that if we are only in the States for 1 major holiday, then we are going to "do it up right"! I wanted to go to a parade, do sparklers and watch fireworks...complete with matching American Flag shirts and ribbons in our hair. So that's what we did! Thankfully Dan was okay with us doing it all :)

We started out the day by going to RBC...put the kids in their classes downstairs, made it upstairs in time for the 1st worship song, were told to turn around and greet our neighbors - so Dan and I turned around and our friends from Bangkok, Cat and Didier, were standing right behind us! We were so thrilled to see them and I took them downstairs to get their kiddos settled in! We went out to lunch with them after church and had a good time catching up and chatting about Northern VA!

Then it was time for the Leesburg Parade! We love Leesburg because the downtown is about 2 blocks long...and anyone can sign up to be in the parade! It was so fun to watch Boy Scout troops, Dance classes, people running for local offices and businesses have floats...as well as the Leesburg Fire Department! Grandad came with us and enjoyed getting to see everything there, as well!
