Sawatdee Sunday

Every year, because our church here is mostly an expat church, we have "Sawatdee Sunday" the last weekend in May where we all say goodbye to those who are moving. Normally we have about 15 families who move every year - this year happens to be especially heavy and we had 29 families move from CCC. Each family is given a beautiful Thailand coffee table book and families sign inside the book for them. Because there were so many families leaving, we had 3 or 4 families at a time come up, say who they are, how long they've lived here, where they are moving to and what they will miss about Thailand. We got to be part of it this year, as we're moving...

The other great thing was that Dan got to preach on Sawatdee Sunday!!! He spoke about the 3 groups of people in the congregation - Those leaving for the familiar (going back "home" or to a place they've been before), Those leaving for the new (i.e. a new city in your home country or a new country) and Those who are staying at CCC! He had biblical advice for each group and what they need to do this next year (whether it is blessing the church they are returning to, finding a new one or jumping in to serve at CCC)...it was wonderful and he did a great job!

I'm sure there wasn't a dry eye in the place that day. What a special service to end your time there.
Glad you got to share the Word, Dan. Loved getting to read your sermon. I think you always have a backup occupation if needed, Dan. Ha!Ha!
Lots of love to you all!

I know it's hard for you all to leave a church and families that you love but God will surely bless you as you move to another country! You are faithful servants. We love you all lots! Mom xoxox
