Portland, Oregon - Day 2 part 1

Day 2 we wanted to drive out to Cannon Beach!  Dan (thankfully) looked up on the map and decided we should take Route 5 north into Washington along the Columbia River out to Astoria, Oregon and then over to Cannon Beach!  It was the best day and drive ever!  We loved the drive along the Columbia River - it was gorgeous with the snow still on the ground and the sky clear blue!  We crossed over the river at Longview, Washington, then continued to Astoria.  We drove down 1 random road to see if we could see some big ships, then saw a long dock-like drive and drove down it not knowing what it was.  It turned out to be a pier out to the Rogue Brewery and old cannery!  We stopped for lunch and LOVED it!  Dan became a Rogue Citizen, we had an amazing lunch of fried cheese curds and oyster po boys and bought some items!  We then headed to Cannon Beach after realizing it was going to get dark soon!

 So cool!

Apparently there was a tsunami sometime in the 1960's so now there are Tsunami Hazard Zones so you know to be on the lookout!

The amazing bridge crossing from Astoria to Megler, Washington.  We didn't get to drive across it because it was getting too late, but we'd like to one day!

One last final look driving from Astoria!
