Phuket, Thailand - part 3

The Pools!!! They. Rocked. They were all set up to look like you were swimming in ruins - which was awesome. There were 5 pools: 1 with a large swimming area and waterslide through a tunnel, 1 deep saltwater pool, 1 lagoon, 1 large hot tub and 1 athletic pool.

The Waterslide was by far the kids favorite. The first day there the kids and Dan went to the top and slid down, while I waited to catch them at the bottom. Dan got stuck 1/2 way down and had to walk a few feet before he could slide again. Later that morning we realized that there were blue mats to take up with you and slide down on :) With them, you ZOOM! We all loved the waterslide - as evidenced by Kylie's statement every time she got to the bottom and surfaced up out of the water - "C'we do that again?" We slid down by ourselves, as pairs, all 3 kids at the same time and Dan and I together.

The Deep Saltwater pool was Dan's favorite. It is probably supposed to be used for teaching scuba, but as it was the off-season, you could just swim in it. It was probably 10 feet deep and so fun. Under the water on the walls, are stone murals of sharks, crocodiles, snakes and fish. It is too cool. We had a great time having the big kids and us work on touching the bottom. Kylie liked jumping into the water and swimming out to us. What she did not like was the fact that she was convinced there were crocodiles in the pools. No matter how much we told her we would NEVER SWIM WITH CROCODILES, she was still scared. Then as the time wore on, she would have to look under the water to make sure things like pool grates, rocks, tiles were not crocodiles and would say, "No crocodile. Just a tile." All. The. Time. Ridiculous.

The Lagoon was possibly my favorite. Shaded, narrow, had stone benches built into the sides so the kids could swim from side to side. So, so cool. Like swimming in a river in the middle of the jungle, only no weird animals or fish and it was chlorinated. :)

The hot tub was really just a "warm tub" because who wants to be even hotter than you already are in 100 degree water? But fun.

The Athletic pool was a large pool with 2 basketball hoops, 2 soccer goals and a volleyball net. Very fun.

There was even a swim-up Bar in the pool where we would get 2 fruit smoothies in the afternoon to share. (a bonus, since at Happy Hour it was Buy 1 get 1 free!)! And can I say that although the swim shirts look rediculous on me (and Dan got one, too - but we didn't have any pics of him in it), they were AWESOME because then I didn't have to wear any sunscreen on my back or shoulders - and didn't get remotely burnt! Yay!

What memories the Seaman family will have!! When our family was young, my favorite vacation was Disney World and the Typhoon Lagoon.. anything water -wise. That's what kids love! It will be great to see the kids aqua expertise when you get here.. Bring their goggles!! Love, Mom xoxo

Incredible! Now I see why it didn't matter that the sea was off limits. So glad you got a good deal on a vacation at such a fancy place. You made a wise investment with the money you spent on this special family time together!
