Life Group Dinner - Last week

Last Tuesday, we hosted our Life Group for dinner!  The kiddos and I made barbecue chicken sandwiches, cole slaw and corn chowder...then asked our Life Group to bring a salad and dessert!
The big kids helped pull chicken after it was cooked...it took all 3 of us about 20 minutes to shred it...it was 6lbs of chicken!
Before the adults got here, we fed my kiddos and Ms. Ro's biggest, Jaya (this was a split second before the corn chowder got splattered all over the floor :))
This little Bug Cadie had fun turning herself around in place on the kitchen floor while kiddos ate :)

A Birthday Party and my Tweeter is HOME!!!

My Tweeter is HOME!!!
Our little friend, Jaya, had her 2nd birthday party this weekend!  It was a fun time to celebrate her and her "Ball" theme!  The kiddos got to play in the gym at the school her parents teach at and then had lunch there!  Ro, her mother, makes amazing cakes and cupcakes, so she made a full cake "Basketball" and egg-less cupcakes for the kiddos (some of whom have egg allergies)!  It was a great time and the best part was that Dan got to come with us after having been gone for 5 weeks!

Funny stuff

This morning Jack got dressed for school - and as he was finished getting dressed, I noticed a large blue paint stain on the back of his clean shirt (so that's clearly not going to come out now that it's been washed and dried).  So I said to him, "Jack!  You have a huge paint stain on the back of your new shirt!"  Megan replied nonchalantly, "Moooom, just get a new boy!"  Jack looked at me with pitiful eyes, wrapped his arms around me and said without missing a beat, "Don't get rid of me!  I like our family!"

We all cracked up dying laughing because Megan clearly meant, "Get a new shirt!"  instead of "Get a new boy"!  All day long I've been giggling at it...until I told my friend Ro tonight and she remarked how funny it would be if Jack never wanted to paint anything again at school for fear that we would get rid of him if he got it on his shirt... :)  Jack knew we were joking.  I think.

SnowBunny and SnowRabbit

Jack got to bring home 2 stuffed animal rabbits Wednesday night for school! He was supposed to do activities with them and then write a small moments story in the notebook they send home! We took the SnowBunnies out to dinner at Sudathai and Jack wrote his small moments story about how the SnowBunnies ate his vegetables at dinner (well, really it was Megan, but that's okay)!

Weeks in Review

A couple of weeks ago our church had an Evening of Worship - and I volunteered to bring a snack.  We made Lemon Cupcakes with lemon icing...and Megan made a sign so people wouldn't think it was vanilla!
While shopping at Carrefour, the kiddos peeked out at me from behind a freezer
The end of watching High School Musical 3 - kiddos got up and danced with them
First "Out of Uniform" day at school :)  And Kylie in random pajamas
There was a birthday party in Megan's classroom...and these were the cupcakes that were brought in!

EW Fall Kick-Off continued...

So, Kari had done such a pretty post, that I just couldn't resist it.  Because she is such a great photographer and because the camera we had set aside to take pictures at our Fall Kick-off's batteries weren't charged, we talked Kari into taking pictures for EW to use to decorate for our board as you enter the church.  The pictures Kari (and Kathy and Leslie) took at the kickoff were great!  Fun ones of me and Allayne, more yummy pink food and my choice of study this semester -

Discovery:  God's Answers to Our Deepest Questions by Will Wyatt.  We had our first official study this week and it was really good.  I am totally excited for the group of ladies in our study...and I feel like I'm on the opposite side of where I was 2 years ago - I know all the ladies in the study.  I have close friends in the study and a history with them.  I remember sitting in my first EW study here 2 Falls ago and thinking that all these ladies knew each other.  They all hung out after EW and came late sometimes because they were working out together in the morning.  And I didn't know anyone...and there wasn't anyone else who was new in my first study here.  Fast forward 2 years and I'm sitting in this study with other ladies from past and present EW Core, the pastor's wife is facilitating it, Amy's in it and other ministry leaders and ladies are in it.  I think we have 2 new ladies in it...and I really want them to feel welcome.  We do lunch after EW every other week at Que Pasa and I made sure to invite one of the ladies (the other one had a sick kid at home and couldn't make it)...but felt bad that she had to sit with other ladies at lunch because I got to sit at the "kid's" table with Kylie and 4 other kiddos and their mommas...hopefully it's the thought that counts.  Anyways, I'm excited to see what God will do and how He will work in our hearts this semester...
