This morning Jack got dressed for school - and as he was finished getting dressed, I noticed a large blue paint stain on the back of his clean shirt (so that's clearly not going to come out now that it's been washed and dried). So I said to him, "Jack! You have a huge paint stain on the back of your new shirt!" Megan replied nonchalantly, "Moooom, just get a new boy!" Jack looked at me with pitiful eyes, wrapped his arms around me and said without missing a beat, "Don't get rid of me! I like our family!"
We all cracked up dying laughing because Megan clearly meant, "Get a new shirt!" instead of "Get a new boy"! All day long I've been giggling at it...until I told my friend Ro tonight and she remarked how funny it would be if Jack never wanted to paint anything again at school for fear that we would get rid of him if he got it on his shirt... :) Jack knew we were joking. I think.

I can just picture Jack's beautiful eyes looking up at you and saying that. I don't think you need to fear any long term trauma. He knew Meg just said the wrong word and you all had a good laugh. It was a very precious comment on his part. I like your family too!
Lots of love to all!
oh my goodness, that's funny! :)
