Hokies in Bangkok

Because we are 12 hours ahead of EST, and the game was starting at 8:30PM in Miami, it came on here at 8:30AM Friday morning! We had 2 families over to watch the game, in which the Dad's are both Hokies! We made Heather's French Toast Casserole, a lemon breakfast loaf and had pomello and watermelon! Monique made a yummy Southern Living egg/sausage casserole and then Trish made chocolate chip cookies!

About half-way through the game, I brought out maroon and orange beads and the girls (and the boys) made Hokie bracelets! The 3 boys got to play the Xbox downstairs and Megan and Melina got to play outside at the swings and playground for a bit. It was nice to see most of the people decked out in Hokie gear...1/2 way around the world!

Then, in the evening we ended up all going out to dinner together to a really neat restaurant down on the Chao Phrya river called (in english) the River Treehouse Restaurant (in Thai - Baan Rabiang Nam). It's only about a mile from our house, but you drive down this narrow street to it and park your car. Then a motorcycle taxi with a metal cage attached to it and benches in it pulls up and we all got on. That took us down an even smaller street to the river and the restaurant! The restaurant was beautiful with wood, twinkling lights and pretty plants. We had yummy Thai food for pretty cheap and had a great time!

A football party at breakfast time!
Sounds pretty neat. As always the pictures were great. The special ride to the restuarant sounded cool. Good job Hokie fans! What devotion.

Mom
